Description:
c 1525. Scene from Bernard's return journey in January 1147 where in Liege he healed many more as witnessed by Bishop Henry, who was so impressed with what he saw that he consented to send Clairvaux monks to Aulne which became Cistercian. Bernard is seen with the bishop who is kneeling before him. At Bernard's feet his secretary and the author of the account sits with a pen in his left hand and a scroll in his right with the words: 'Veritas Domini manet in Aeternum' (The truth of the Lord lasts forever). In the church porch in the background are a number of people seeking Bernard in order that he might heal them.
