1505/32. Scene from the Council of Pisa 1135 called by Innocent II to put an end to the last remaining pockets of schism in Italy. The pope presiding sits on a throne in the centre wearing a golden tiara and cope. The place of honour to his right is taken by Bernard, then a bishop and other clerics, and on the pope's left a cardinal and other clerics. The location is indicated by the inscription on the wall: 'Pisa'. |
