Description:
Fully-illustrated edition printed in Venice 1512 by Bernardino Stagnino da Trino de monferra and with a commentary by Cristoforo Landino. Illustrating the beginning of Canto 31 - 'In fashion, as a snow white rose, lay then before my view the saintly multitude' - with a bearded Bernard on the far left in a cowl with his hood over his head and identified by the word above 'BERNARDO' standing next to Dante identified as 'D'. They are looking at the 'candida rosa' with the saints within the petals. Above are a numner of angels. On the far right Beatrice, identified by 'B' is disappearing. See also EN10 & EN75
