Description:
Frontispiece of 'Sermoni Volgari' printed in Venice in 1528 has a woodcut the upper half of which has a nimbed Bernard seated with an open book on his lap and with two monks on each side, also seated. They all have their hoods over their heads. Above Bernard are letters 'S' on one side and 'BE' on the other. The lower half features the bishop of Ferrara who commissioned the book to be printed.
