Description:
Composite manuscript containing Prayers in German. Belonged to the Dominican nuns of St Katherine, Nuremberg and dated the third quarter of the fifteenth century. A blood-stained Christ has one arm still attached to the Cross and one detached and bending down to embrace the kneeling Bernard, nimbed and in a grey cowl. His crozier is on the left and a pole with vinegar sponge and a spear are on the right. On the green ground is a red book with a mitre above. There is an almost identical image on f 77v (EN63). It is also virtually identical to EN15 although in this image Bernard is not nimbed.
