Description:
From the Rule of St Benedict with title in red and small woodcut beneath of the Amplexus within pictorial border-pieces (white on black ground) comprising thistles, rabbits roasting a man on a spit, a bee buzzing round children, and a mermaid combing her hair). At Bernard's feet are the arms of Clairvaux surmounted by a mitre. Printed in Mainz c 1514-20 by Johann Schoeffer (1503-31). Some of the blank leaves at the end are filled with matters relating to the Benedictine Order, written by a contemporary hand.
